In 1938, Alpina introduced a unique luxury watch distinguished by the first in the history combination of four key sports features. Water-resistant, antishock, antimagnetic, and stainless – these characteristics made the Alpina 4 model a real sensation. This year, the Swiss watchmaking company revives the legend with the release of the “Full Black” Alpiner 4 Manufacture Flyback Chronograph watches. Like other Alpina high-end luxury watches, this new model represents a precision instrument that evokes clarity and dynamism. However, it is much more contemporary and sportier compared with previous designer chronograph watches produced under this brand. Let’s see why!
First of all, the Alpina “Full Black” Alpiner 4 Manufacture Flyback Chronograph comes in a 44mm stainless steel case with black PVD coating that gives it additional protection against daily wear and tear. Besides, this new luxury watch model is equipped with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal and a screw-down setting and winding crown aligned with rectangular chronograph pushers (a start-stop pusher at 2 o’clock and a return to zero pusher at the 4 o’clock position) that make it capable of withstanding depths of up to 330 feet/100 meters. Its attractive black dial with a telemeter scale around the outer rim and three slightly sunken sub-dials (small seconds at 9 o’clock, 30-minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock, and date at 6 o’clock) ensures perfect readability of the indications thanks to the beige luminous coating visible even in low light. The all-black style of this eye-catching luxury watch with chronograph is finished with an elegant black leather strap with matching to the dial beige stitching that ensures comfort and safety on the wearer’s wrist.
What is more, the Alpina “Full Black” Alpiner 4 Manufacture Flyback Chronograph not only looks good! This excellent piece of quality watches for men is equipped with the AL-760 caliber, a powerful in-house self-winding mechanical movement composed of 233 parts including 32 jewels and a PVD-coated rotor. Operating at the frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, it has a power reserve of 38 hours. Furthermore, as a recognized specialist in pilots’ high-end watches, Alpina has equipped its novelty with a split-seconds function – a flyback module comprising only 96 components. Thus, combining two complicated mechanisms entirely manufactured in-house, this independent luxury watch brand has made a significant contribution to its heritage.
In this way, the new Alpina “Full Black” Alpiner 4 Manufacture Flyback Chronograph watches with such a striking and cool appearance remain true to their successful predecessors (the original Alpina 4 luxury watch model and the last year’s premiere also equipped with the in-house AL-760 flyback chronograph caliber) while demonstrating the more distinctive and aggressive personality. The outstanding novelty will be officially introduced next week, at Baselworld 2016 that will take place on March 17-24 in Basel, Switzerland.
