Romain Jerome has recently introduced its fantastic futuristic creation – Moon Orbiter GMT Flying Tourbillon watches (reference number RJ.M.TO.MO.011.01) that represent a new architectural and technical concept of their one of a kind high-end watches collection. This renowned Swiss manufacturer is exactly the luxury watch brand that really stands out from the crowd. Over the years, we have been pleased by lots of bright and bold designs by Romain Jerome that are so different from all the others. However, this time, the new Moon Orbiter GMT Tourbillon model is distinguished not only by its external brilliance but also by its unique substance.
Once again, Romain Jerome has joined forces with La Joux-Perret releasing brand new watches equipped with a made-to-measure mechanical self-winding movement that has undergone a complete redesign. Even at first glance, it becomes clear that the Moon Orbiter GMT Tourbillon model is based on its predecessor so that its large stainless steel case measuring 48mm in diameter still serves as a benchmark of luxury watch architectural design. At the same time, the novelty is very different from the previous model produced with a rectangular-shaped case. The new Moon Orbiter attracts the attention with the Romain Jerome’s iconic traverses arranged around the grey dial with engraved stellar pattern. The flying tourbillon located at the 9 o’clock position is also noteworthy due to its ultra-modern bridges. In addition, this model features a power reserve indicator at 6 o’clock and a day/night indicator at 2 o’clock. The time sub-dial is placed at the 3 o’clock position that gives balance to the overall design of this amazing piece of high-end luxury watches for men.
Another distinction of the new Moon Orbiter is clearly seen at 12 o’clock. This completely integrated, jumping hour GMT retrograde feature was developed exclusively for this watch from Romain Jerome. In general, the Moon Orbiter GMT Tourbillon new design watches seem more modern and stylish that is emphasized by characteristic fitted lugs equipped with cylinder system for optimal wrist adjustment and bold red-tipped hands – a subtle hint to the “red Moon.” A black alligator leather strap perfectly complements the overall design thanks to its red stitching.
Despite the attractive appearance, the most interesting part of this luxury watch model is not its features, but rather Apollo 11 fragments used in the case construction. Moreover, all Moon Orbiter GMT Flying Tourbillon watches also contain “Moon SilverRJ” – a unique alloy with real moon dust used for the inertia-blocks balancing the oscillating weight. It is actually a very rare material so that these Romain Jerome new release watches will be produced in an extremely limited edition of only 25 copies worldwide. The retail price is expected to be with six figures respectively.
