Universal Geneve

In 1894, Emile Descombes and Ulisse Georges Perret founded the Universal Watch Company in Le Locle. It took them a little time to gain popularity in the world watch market. In 1897, Emile Descombes died, and Perret took the whole management into his own hands, and soon partnered with a watchmaker Louis Edouard Berthoud who specialized in the production of pocket watches. The cooperation was successful, and in 1898, they created their first pocket chronograph with a 30-minute counter.

In 1934, the Universal Watch headquarters moved to Geneva. In 1970, it was renamed as the Universal Geneve Company and five years later launched the slimmest quartz caliber in the world. Almost 80 years after the launch of the first Universal Geneve Cabriolet watches assembled with a rotating case, the company introduced the renewed Universal Geneve Microtor Cabriolet at Baselworld Watches Exhibition 2008. These novelties just strengthened its status in the world of Haute Horlogerie. In 2005, Universal Geneve watches manufacturer released two new amazing collections called Okeanos and Anthea. The Okeanos line was designed for ladies while the Anthea series - for men. In general, the Universal Geneve watches company produces limited editions of luxury watches that afterward become recognizable bestsellers among true connoisseurs of the watchmaking art.
