Greubel Forsey

Two designers of high-end watches, Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey were the establishers of the Greubel Forsey brand. It is one of few luxury watch brands, specializing on the design of sophisticated mechanisms. Robert Greubel was born in 1960 in the family of watchmakers. His family owned a watch store called Greubel. Robert worked there after studying at the Morteau School of Watch making. Years later, he worked as a prototypist at the IWC, where made designs prototypes of timepieces before they were released.

Stephen Forsey was born in England, in 1967. He has been a mechanical things enthusiast since his youth, so he entered Hackney Technical College in London to study watch making. After the graduation, Forsey continued his studying of watch making in Switzerland. Because of the same vision, Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey decided to cooperate to create new movements.

They created CompliTime SA, a company that realized the development of timepieces of intricate movements. After four years, the company Greubel Forsey was opened at Baseworld, along with their first creation: the Double Tourbillon 30, a movement, made for luxury watches.
